This was also evident in a dramatic manner in Bach's A minor Violin Concerto. Here, powerful expressiveness was combined with uninterrupted cantabile in a wondrous way. The rapport between soloist and orchestra was perfect. Violinist Elisabeth Perry earned herself the most sustained applause which I have experienced up until now at this festival, not only because of her great ability, but for an interpretation which musically and stylistically tallied perfectly with Bach.
